Every BEM Electric Motor is a Benchmark of Precision and Quality
BEM Electric Motors Series ML & MH
The BEM ML- and MH-Series Electric Motors combine exceptional performance with compact, energy-efficient design. Equipped with Class H insulation optimized for frequency converters, they ensure durability and reliability. Reinforced inter-turn insulation enables safe PWM converter operation (dv/dt ≤ 5 kV/µs) without costly sinus filters.
Available as induction or permanent magnet motors, they feature either permanent magnet or squirrel cage rotors: PM motors offer a compact footprint, while squirrel cage designs deliver robust versatility for industrial and marine use. Precision engineering and intelligent design make the BEM ML & MH Series a benchmark in efficient and sustainable propulsion technology.

Research Vessel
Low-voltage alternators of the L-Series are installed for hybrid propulsion and on-board power generation on a multi-purpose naval support vessel.
Operating at 690 V / 60 Hz with a total power output of up to 3 MVA, the units provide reliable energy supply and low vibration levels under marine conditions.
Designed for continuous operation, they ensure stable voltage and efficient performance even under variable loads.

Bow Thruster & POD Motors – Marine Applications
High-voltage alternators of the H-Series supply continuous electrical power to an industrial cement production facility.
Each unit operates at 11 kV / 50 Hz with an output of approximately 3 MVA, ensuring long-term stability and efficiency in a 24/7 power plant environment.
Robust construction, advanced insulation, and optimized cooling systems guarantee reliable performance under high thermal and mechanical stress.

Main Propulsion Motors
A medium-voltage alternator operates in a combined heat-and-power installation that recovers thermal energy from diesel engine exhaust gases.
Driven by a steam turbine, it converts waste heat into electrical power at 3.3 kV / 50 Hz and approximately 1.8 MVA.
The closed-circuit water cooling (IC 81W) and double-bearing design enable high thermal stability, compact integration, and reduced CO2 emissions through efficient energy utilization.
